[Yamanashi Prefecture] Mysterious spring-fed ponds at the foot of Mount Fuji: Oshino Hakkai

Oshino Hakkai, located in Oshino Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, is renowned for its excellent water.

A component of Mount Fuji, Japan's most famous World Heritage Site,

This area, selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Waters, is the collective name for eight spring-fed ponds formed over decades of meltwater following the eruption of Mount Fuji. 🥸

The stunning clarity of the water, resulting from Mount Fuji's springs, creates a beautiful, crystal-clear blue...✨

At first, I doubted it was really blue, but the mystical sight of such a beautiful blue made me want to apologize for my doubts. 😭

Golden carp and rainbow trout swim in the ponds,
and the trees reflect off the crystal-clear water, creating photos that look just like watercolor paintings. 📸

In addition to the spring-fed ponds, Oshino Hakkai also offers views of thatched roofs and waterwheels,

making it a truly quintessential Japanese landscape! From the observation area, I was able to take some amazing photos with the magnificent Mt. Fuji towering in the background. ✌️

As the seasons change, you can see various combinations of Mt. Fuji and the scenery, making this a recommended tourist spot on a clear day. 🫡

Take the Fujikyu Otsuki Line and get off at Mt. Fuji Station.
↓
From Mt. Fuji Station, take the local bus bound for Uchino.
Get off at the "Oshino Hakkai Iriguchi" bus stop and walk for 1 minute. 🚏
Or take the local bus bound for Hirano via FANUC.
Or take the "Fujikkogo" bus to the "Oshino Hakkai (Ohashi)" bus stop and walk for 1 minute. 🚏
