Hokkaido | Otaru Kerosene Lamp Cafe "Kitaichi Glass Building No. 3"

One of the must-visit attractions in Otaru, Hokkaido, "Sakaimachi Street" shopping street
There are many glass specialty stores and souvenir shops
One of the famous old glass shops "Kitaichi Glass"🫙
Opened many branches in Otaru, and the largest branch is "Building 3"
The building was formerly a fishery warehouse during the Meiji period.
Now it’s a glass specialty store & cafe 💙

The biggest feature of this cafe is that it is full of kerosene lamps💡
The environment is dark ~ but there is a lamp on every table
The atmosphere is very romantic💕
Every morning, the staff will hold a "lighting ceremony"
If you want to see the lighting process, you can choose to come in the morning
But we came during noon time, so we didn’t have to wait.
Order your food first before taking a seat, and then find a seat

Signature [Milk Ice Cream Floating Milk Tea] 700 yen
Set meal [Chiffon cake with coffee] 780 yen

Food tastes normal, no big surprises
The main thing here is to appreciate the romantic atmosphere in the store🕯
In addition, there will be half-an-hour piano performance at 14:00/15:00/16:00 from Monday to Friday🎹 Unfortunately we didn’t catch it

Note that the entrance is hidden inside the Kitaichi Glass Building No. 3.
It’s easy to miss it❗️
