• Periodic performances of local arts and culture, including Thai dance, regional music, and other local activities
• Dress lightly and comfortably — there's plenty of walking, including wooden bridges along the waterfront, and some areas may require wading through water or crossing small canals
• Bring cash — Some shops accept cards and bank transfers, but cash is still preferred
