The Natural Tripitos Arch in Paxos

The Tripitos Arch, also known as Kamara, is a large natural rock formation located on the west coast of Paxos, a small Greek island in the Ionian Sea. This arch is a piece of nature’s artwork, created when the roof of a sea cave collapsed over time, leaving behind a tall, semi-circular bridge of stone that goes over the clear blue water. The arch is more than 20 meters high at its highest point.

The arch is situated near the small village of Ozias in the southern part of the island. It is one of the most famous sights on Paxos, admired both from the land and the sea. People who visit can reach it either by taking a boat trip along the coastline or by walking a short path from the nearby village. From the high cliffs above the arch, there are wide, open views of the sea and the nearby island of Antipaxos.

Tripitos Arch is a good example of the powerful way nature shapes the land. Its rugged stone contrasts nicely with the bright turquoise of the sea below.
