Ko Phi Phi Maya Bay Tour

Stayed at Holiday Resort and booked the Maya Bay tour on the Longtail boat. Took 30 minutes to get to Maya Bay.

Much different than I remember when I went in 2016. You can't swim in the bay anymore and there was way more tourists. A lifeguard blows his whistle at anyone that goes more than 10 feet from the shore. Given one hour to just look at the beach for photos. Felt like Bali. Just getting photos, but not getting to actually do anything. A little baby shark was swimming around my feet.

All the little food stalls and walking through the jungle to a crappy unsafe ladder were replaced with boardwalks and stairs. Stopped at two destinations to snorkel, Nui Beach and Phi Leh Bay, which was fun. Also passed the viking cave, but nothing to see except the cliff. The whole trip was 845 AM to 1245 PM. Cost was 2000+ baht for the boat, which holds up to 4 guests. Additional 400 baht per person National marine park entry fee paid to driver. Could book a speed boat as well, but needs minimum of 6 guests. Not even 6 people booked, so it was a private Longtail boat tour. More authentic anyway.
