Wat Phra Si Mahathat, also known as Wat Yai or Wat Luang Pho Sinarat, is a historic temple that dates back to the Ayutthaya period or even earlier. The Luang Pho Sinarat Buddha image, housed in a grand arch, is truly stunning.
At the entrance on the right-hand side, you'll find the Phra Luea Buddha statue, where visitors can pay respects and pray for financial prosperity. Additionally, the temple grounds feature a castle structure at the back, along with remnants of the original temple, including a large standing Buddha statue. These structures retain their original brickwork design.
If you have time, take a stroll around the temple to discover numerous traditional architectural elements, such as the cloister and the castle, which showcase a blend of Sukhothai and Lopburi styles.
