The village's main cash crops are tea and chestnuts. Haotang Village boasts 20,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres) of ecological tea plantations, primarily Xinyang Maojian, and 10,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres) of chestnut orchards. The village also boasts 22,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres) of rich vegetation and a national wild kiwifruit reserve. The village also boasts a bountiful agricultural product, including kudzu root, lotus root, and honey. Incorporating elements of Huizhou architecture, Haotang Village incorporates the distinctive, yet similarly styled, original ecological housing designs for each household. The village prioritizes saving where possible and reusing where possible, respecting the wishes of the farmers.
