Wat Ratchaburana, Royal Monastery

Wat Ratchaburana is located on the east bank of the Nan River, south of Wat Phra Sri Mahathat. The distinctive ordination hall (ordination hall) features a graceful, three-headed naga on the eaves. Built in the late Sukhothai period, it's over a thousand years old. Inside, you'll find ancient remains and artifacts, including the Chedi Luang, a circular Sri Lankan-style chedi set on an octagonal base layered with smaller chedis surrounding it, visible from across the river. The ordination hall is located near the Ho Trai (Library), and features round laterite pillars and a Sukhothai-style stucco Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture. The temple grounds are very shady, making it another beautiful temple in Phitsanulok that you should definitely visit.
