The Historic City of Ayutthaya, also known as the "Ancient City of Ayutthaya" and the "Ayutthaya Ruins", is the site of the ruins of the capital of the Ayutthaya Dynasty. In 1767, the capital of the Ayutthaya Sultanate was captured and ruthlessly destroyed by Burmese troops. The historical park encompasses about two-thirds of Ayutthaya's historical sites, and most of the temples are in Khmer and Sri Lankan styles.
