Worship at Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, Ayutthaya Province

Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, formerly known as "Wat Pa Kaew" or "Wat Chao Thai", is located in the southeast of Ko Phra Nakhon. It is now part of Tambon Khlong Suan Phlu, Amphoe Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The highlight of the temple is the large pagoda, which is believed to have been renovated during the reign of King Naresuan the Great. Inside, the Chai Mongkol mantra was discovered. Inside the ordination hall is the enshrined Phra Phuttha Chai Mongkol, the principal Buddha image of the temple.

This temple is an ancient temple built in the early Ayutthaya period. It is located outside the island of Ayutthaya on the east bank of the Pa Sak River. It is a popular temple on the Ayutthaya pilgrimage program because it is the place where the Chai Mongkol pagoda, a memorial to the great victory of King Naresuan the Great, is enshrined. It also enshrines a large reclining Buddha. It is said that if you go to pay homage, it will bring good fortune to your life.
