#TempleTour #100WaysToVisit Wat Phra Ngam or Wat Charam is located outside the island of Ayutthaya on the north side in the Thung Khwan area. The temple faces east. There is an octagonal pagoda as the main temple. In front or on the east side of the main pagoda is the ordination hall. There is a wall and a moat surrounding the temple. There are traces of restoration and renovation in the temple many times.
There is no documentary evidence of Wat Phra Ngam's establishment, but it is mentioned in the 13th stanza of Nirat Nakhon Sawan, which is believed to have been written during the reign of King Narai.
However, archaeological studies have concluded that this temple was built in the early Ayutthaya period and was abandoned when Ayutthaya was lost for the second time in 2310.
Today, this place has become a temple where tourists come to pay homage to Luang Pho and take pictures with the amazing and beautiful "Gate of Time".
