The Royal Temple of Ayutthaya, the center of Buddhism

Wat Phra Si Sanphet is an important temple located in the Grand Palace of Ayutthaya. It used to be the residence of the king before being transformed into a temple during the reign of King Borommatrailokanat.
Wat Phra Si Sanphet is similar to Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram (Wat Phra Kaew) today because it is a temple in the palace area. There are no monks residing there.

How to get there
🚆 Train: Take the train from Hua Lamphong or Don Mueang Station to Ayutthaya Railway Station. Then take a tuk-tuk to the temple.
🚗 Private car: Take Highway No. 32 (Asia Road) and drive straight into Ayutthaya city.
