A must see place for history buffs is the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Bangkok. Open from 09:00-16:30, closed on Monday. A visit to this place brings back the grandeur ruins of the past. Founded by King U Thong in 1351, the Ayutthaya Kingdom or Siam had become one of the world’s largest most prosperous cities.
Today, the city had so much tracks of ruins left behind and occupies lots of mysterious site. This Ayutthaya temples holds 41 temples and 5 are the most visited ones.
1. The Wat Phra Si Sanphet or the Temple of the Buddha Si Sanphet.
2. Wat Mahathat or the Temple of The Great Relics.
3. Wat Lokayasutharam or the Temple of The Reclining Buddha
4. Wat Rachaburana or the Temple of Royal Restoration. 5. Wat Chaiwatthanaram or the Temple of the Long Reign and Glorious Era.
