Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, a province not far from Bangkok, is a charming Thai city filled with temples, historical sites, and many delicious Michelin-starred restaurants. If you only have two days and one night and don't know where to go, follow this itinerary 👉🏻
⛅️Day 1
After a tiring drive, stop for a quick refreshment at "Pa Pron's Traditional Pork Noodles" 🍜, a small roadside restaurant with the aromatic scent of rich broth. Served with generous pieces of pork and generous toppings, each dish is prepared using a traditional recipe by Pa Pron himself.
Next, head to "Wat Mahathat," a popular landmark in Ayutthaya, highlighted by the famous "Buddha Head in Tree Roots." Stroll through the ancient ruins, still beautifully and mysteriously, and feel like you've traveled back in time to the ancient capital.
In the afternoon, grab a light bite at "Pa Lek's Boat Noodles" 🥢, a popular local restaurant recommended by locals. The tender stewed pork, rich broth, and bouncy meatballs paired with crispy pork rinds are simply heavenly.
After a late night at your hotel, if you still have energy, we recommend recharging at "Chedi Khao Tom" 🍚, a famous evening rice porridge restaurant in Ayutthaya, serves a variety of dishes, including stir-fried vegetables, fried shrimp with garlic, and squid stir-fried with salted eggs. Pair them with hot rice porridge and enjoy the authentic local atmosphere.
⛅️ Day 2
Start your day with breakfast at "Hia Ka La Pork Satay" 🧄. The pork satay is fragrant with spices, tender, and large pieces of meat, served with a rich peanut sauce and sweet and sour pickled vegetables. It's so delicious you won't be able to stop eating.
Next, head to "Wat Chaiwatthanaram" 🙏🏻, one of Ayutthaya's most beautiful riverside temples. A highlight is dressing up in traditional Thai clothing and taking photos with the ancient ruins, creating a retro feel like you've truly stepped into a period drama.
Finally, stop for a relaxing coffee break at "Sayama Ayutthaya" ☕️, a cozy cafe with a minimalist Ayutthaya vibe. Enjoy the aromatic drinks and delicious cakes. Relax and enjoy the view before heading back.
End your trip with a hearty meal at "Jung Service Restaurant" 🦐, a popular and frequented restaurant in Ayutthaya. Known for its fresh seafood and spicy Thai dishes, including grilled river prawns with spicy dipping sauce and large salt-fried prawns, this place is a must-try before your trip. Don't forget to grab some roti sai mai (Thai saffron sesame)—a local specialty.
