Saengtham Shrine, a small shrine but full of faith

If you have a chance to visit Phuket and want to stop by to worship and ask for blessings in a relaxed and uncluttered way, I would like to recommend Saeng Tham Shrine, or as some people call it “Saeng Tham Pu Ya Tong Sun Keng”, a small but very old and sacred shrine in the Phuket town area.

This shrine is a Hokkien-style Chinese shrine. The exterior may look simple and not flashy like the big shrines, but once you enter, you will feel the peace and encouragement. Inside, there are many deities, especially “Pu Ya Tong Sun Keng”, who is highly respected by Phuket locals. It is believed that he grants blessings for health, business, and protection to the family.

The atmosphere around the shrine is simple and not crowded. It is suitable for those who want to make merit privately. You can light incense, ask for blessings, and sit quietly to rest your mind. There are inexpensive offering sets for sale, and the staff at the shrine provide information in a friendly manner.

If you come during the vegetarian festival, this place will be livelier. There are ceremonies and the shrine is beautifully decorated. However, on weekdays, it is suitable for those who want to recharge their positive energy in a peaceful way.

Overall, Saeng Tham Shrine may not be a large landmark, but it is filled with faith and a warm atmosphere. This is another place that I would like you to try when visiting Phuket. 🙏✨
