A Hiking Adventure Close to Nature

Hidden deep within the mountains of Shizi Township, Pingtung County, lies a breathtaking secret spot—Kayoufeng Waterfall. The name "Kayoufeng" originates from the Paiwan language, meaning "be careful, walk slowly," a fitting reminder as the path to the waterfall is not an easy one. However, this very inaccessibility has preserved the pristine beauty of Kayoufeng Waterfall, awaiting travelers willing to put in the effort to explore it.

To reach Kayoufeng Waterfall, visitors must walk approximately 15 to 20 minutes from the trailhead. The trail, which winds along the mountains and streams, offers stunning scenery, allowing hikers to admire dense forests and crystal-clear streams up close. Along the way, you can hear the chirping of insects and birds, feel the gentle breeze, and immerse yourself in the tranquility and comfort of nature. As you venture deeper, the sound of flowing water grows louder, and upon rounding the final bend, the magnificent sight of the waterfall suddenly comes into view.

Standing at about 40 meters tall, Kayoufeng Waterfall cascades from a great height, creating a spectacular white curtain of water. The mist from the waterfall fills the air, providing a refreshing sensation. At the base of the waterfall lies a crystal-clear pool, surrounded by smooth, rounded boulders that have been polished by years of water flow. This serene pool contrasts beautifully with the powerful energy of the waterfall, creating a harmonious scene of motion and stillness.

Kayoufeng Waterfall is not just a picturesque spot for photos but also a therapeutic journey into the natural beauty of Pingtung's mountains and forests.
