The city wall, which began construction during the Ming Dynasty (around 1370), stretches approximately 6 km in length and stands about 12 meters tall. It features 72 watchtowers, making it a well-preserved example of a northern fortress city. Walking along the top of the wall offers a panoramic view of the ancient town both inside and outside the walls, allowing visitors to experience the scenery of a "town where time seems to have stopped."
At night, the wall is illuminated, and 3D projection mapping events are held, providing a different atmosphere from the daytime.
👍 Recommended Points:
- Climb early in the morning to enjoy a quieter experience with fewer tourists, and take in the serene views of the town from atop the wall.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes and consider walking a section of the wall either counterclockwise or clockwise to appreciate the changing townscapes.
- For evening light-up photography, step back slightly from the wall's exterior to capture a stunning composition of the entire town.
