Family Vacation Exceeds Expectations

Our extended family getaway fulfilled all of our high expectations. We stayed in a two-bedroom family villa， which was incredible， with plenty of space to relax. Soukaina was our host， efficiently organizing things and always ready to assist us. The service was excellent. We loved using the bikes to explore， and it never felt crowded. Every restaurant had fantastic food， each offering something unique. Starting the day with breakfast at Selwesa was perfect. Though the weather wasn't great initially， it helped us acclimate. We noticed in July， with the southeastern winds， the west side tends to be cloudier. When we visited Victoria and Anse Major， the weather was much better， so planning trips when the hotel weather is poor is advisable. Renting a car from the hotel for a day was awesome， it was simple to drive around， and we realized the best beach in Mahe is the hotel's north beach! The snorkeling a few hundred meters off the north beach was superb. We would love to return. Our only issue was the environmental impact of mosquito fogging， done roughly three times a week. It kills mosquitoes and other insects but not larvae， which might be why it’s frequent. From an environmental standpoint (and considering the health of those performing the fogging)， we'd prefer if there was no fogging and people used mosquito repellent to protect wildlife.
