Preparation

• ID: Bring your ID card or other valid ID for purchasing ferry tickets and island entry/exit checks.

• Clothing: Pack light, breathable clothes, sun protection wear, swimwear, flip-flops, and a light jacket for temperature changes in the morning and evening.

• Other items: Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, umbrella or raincoat, power bank, and common medications.

• Accommodation: Book your stay about 2 weeks in advance on major travel platforms, such as Meiyu Nanxiang or Dulu Guesthouse.

Transportation Guide

• Getting there: If driving, navigate directly to Wenjia Pier; if taking the high-speed train to Putian Station in Fujian, transfer to bus K09 or 363 to Wenjia Pier.

• On the island: Rent an electric vehicle for 80-100 yuan per day, or use sightseeing buses, public buses, or shared electric bikes.

Must-Visit Attractions

• Mazu Ancestral Temple: The birthplace of Mazu culture. Follow the route: Mountain Gate - Prince Hall - Chaotian Pavilion - Ascension Historic Site - Giant Mazu Stone Statue. You can also participate in morning worship ceremonies.
• Meiyu Tide Sound: Listen to waves crashing against rocks, walk the rainbow path for fresh photos, and enjoy sunrise views from the East Cliff.
• Golden Beach: The island's longest beach where you can play in the sand and waves. Around 5:30pm, wait here for a stunning sunset.
• Goose Tail Divine Stone Park: A reef cluster featuring unique sea-eroded formations like "Flying Halberd Cave" and "Sea Turtle Pilgrimage," perfect for watching the sunset.
• Tianfei Hometown Heritage Park: Watch a 3D exhibition about Mazu's life, learn about Mazu culture's history and folk customs. The Peace Tower looks beautiful at night.

Food Recommendations

• Mazu Noodles: Symbolizing safety, featuring delicious broth and smooth noodles.

• Qiang Rou Tang (Scalded Meat Soup): Tender meat in a flavorful broth, a local specialty.

• Oyster Omelet: Crispy outside and tender inside, perfectly blending oyster freshness with eggs, served with special sauce.

• Stir-fried Xinghua Rice Noodles: Chewy rice noodles stir-fried with seafood and other ingredients, creating an aromatic dish.

Important Notes

• During May Day holiday, crowds are expected. Try to arrive at Wenjia Pier before 7:30am. When leaving the island, choose departures before 3:00pm or after 6:00pm.

• UV rays are strong near the sea, so take proper sun protection measures.

• When offering incense at the ancestral temple, don't step on the threshold, and avoid taking direct photos of deity statues.
