Ulanqab: A Culinary and Cool Escape to the Volcanic Grasslands

Huitengxile Grassland is located in Chahar Right Wing Middle Banner, Ulanqab City, about 430 km from Beijing. With an average altitude of 2,100 meters and stretching 100 km from east to west, it is a typical alpine meadow grassland. The name "Huitengxile" comes from Mongolian, meaning "Cold Plateau." The grassland experiences cold winters and cool summers, with an average maximum temperature of 18°C in summer. From May to September, the area is covered with blooming flowers, turning it into a sea of blossoms. The grassland is dotted with natural lakes, boasting 99 in total, earning it the nickname "Land of Ninety-Nine Springs." The tourist area, a national 4A-level scenic spot, is located in the heart of Huitengxile Grassland. It has an average altitude of over 2,000 meters and spans more than 600 square kilometers, making it the closest Inner Mongolian grassland to Beijing.
