There is a shoe drum in Tuoquan Village

Speaking of a place called "broken shoe drum" in the local dialect, the practice of "beating shoe drums" has a long history.

In a large ravine (Ligou) on the other side of Tuoquan Village, halfway up the southern peak of Dawaxigou, a rock about the size of a house appears.

This rock is prominent and has a distinct spot in the center. If you take off your shoes and tap the rock with them, it will make a drum-like sound, hence the name "beating shoe drums."

Because it only sounds when tapped with shoes, and not with other tools, the sound is not as loud as with shoes, hence the local name "beating shoe drums." As a child, I often played with cattle and donkeys here while grazing.
