At AnMan Beachfront Inn, Live Life to the Rhythm of the Waves

The moment I dragged my suitcase onto the sand, I knew I'd made the right choice—AnMan Beachfront Inn hides at the end of a coconut grove, its white walls glowing warm gold in the sunset. The sea breeze carries the scent of gardenias, and the front desk staff hands you an ice-cold towel with a hint of mint. The chilled sour plum tea, its glass beaded with condensation, instantly cools the heat of the journey.

The sea-view king room I booked was on the second floor. Stepping inside, the balcony caught my eye first. A rattan lounge chair faces a crescent-shaped bay, where waves roll in with white foam, and distant fishing boats look like silhouettes against the blue. The room is simply decorated with light wood floors and linen bedding, a hand-painted shell artwork hanging by the bed—a piece the owner collected from local fishermen. The curtains were the biggest surprise: pulling them open at dawn, sunlight floods in, gilding the foot of the bed, the rug, even the wall art, while the sea stretches out before you, slowing your breath.

The bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas, with frosted glass offering glimpses of coconut trees outside. The toiletries feature a niche fragrance—citrusy top notes with a hint of sea salt. Wrapped in a towel on the balcony after a shower, the evening breeze feels ten times better than air conditioning.

The shared terrace on the first floor is a hidden gem. In the afternoon, I’d sit under the awning in a rattan chair with an iced Americano, watching the waves. Occasionally, hermit crabs would scuttle out of the sand before darting back into their shells. At dusk, the place comes alive—guests chat over coconuts, someone strums a guitar off-key, and the waves provide the perfect soundtrack. The sunset is breathtaking, turning the sea honey-gold under tangerine clouds—no phone camera could ever do it justice.

The food, though simple, shines in its freshness. Breakfast’s seafood congee is velvety, paired with freshly baked coconut bread—a sweet, briny combo. For dinner, you can order barbecue; the owner picks live shrimp and shellfish from the nearby market, dusted with local chili flakes. Eating on the terrace with a cold beer to cool the spice is pure bliss.

Over three days, I noticed the magic lies in the details: the butler texts tide times so you can go beachcombing; seeing me photograph shells, they quietly brought a clear display box; at checkout, they slipped me a bag of local sea salt crackers "for the road."

On my last morning, I watched the full sunrise from the balcony. A tangerine sun leaped from the horizon, scattering gold across the water as waves lapped the shore, whispering, "Take your time."

If you, too, want to live life to the rhythm of the waves, come to AnMan. No influencer spots here—just sea breezes, sunlight, and the gentle art of slowing down. AnMan Beachfront Inn
