Exotic Street Stroll Guide

In-depth guide to show you that Quebec is colorful and not just about goblins.
Years ago, watching Goblin deeply planted my love for Quebec, and I finally fulfilled my wish to visit this autumn! I have to say, Quebec in autumn is truly beautiful, beyond what photos can capture! After a deep trip, I’ve summarized a thoughtful travel guide suitable for all kinds of weather. Save it for later.

We took the train to Quebec. Since the main attractions are concentrated in Old Quebec, it’s very walkable and no need to rent a car. But! No one mentioned in any guide that it’s a place with very steep terrain and lots of stairs every day, so bring comfortable shoes.

As for timing, 1-2 days is enough to explore Old Quebec, while 3-4 days allows for a very leisurely pace and some niche activities.

Below are some recommended places to visit in order, with Goblin filming tips sprinkled in, and the original French names listed for easy reference.

· Fairmont Le Château Frontenac
The castle hotel is a must-visit landmark in Quebec with hundreds of years of history. The wooden boardwalk and park in front of it are perfect for a relaxing stroll with river views. The Goblin filming spot is the mailbox near the hotel lobby elevator, and the Christmas shop La Boutique de Noël de Québec is also nearby.

· Rue du Petit Champlain
Petit Champlain Street is another must-visit spot. You can quickly get there by going down the stairs at the north end of the hotel’s wooden boardwalk. It’s cozy, with a fantastic historic atmosphere, cute small parks and shops along the way, and lots of delicious food! The most classic Goblin time-travel red door is on this street, and I even saw the NPC harp grandpa. But usually, there are huge crowds and lines for photos. Actually, before 10 AM when the shops are closed, there’s no one and no need to queue. If you want to check out the cute Umbrella Alley, go down the stairs in the middle of the street.

· Monument Duqua de Mons
The best sunset viewing spot in all of Quebec! Watching the sun set on the grass is incredibly romantic! You can get there by going up the stairs at the south end of the Château Frontenac boardwalk. I prefer walking along the trail next to The Citadelle of Québec to get here, where you can see spectacular city walls and different angles of the skyline. This place was also a Goblin filming location, but the tombstone was a prop, so don’t get confused.

· Rue Saint-Jean
This street has a lot of great food!

· Pavillon Pierre Lassonde
If it rains, I recommend visiting this art museum! Not only is the building beautifully designed, but the exhibitions are also very interesting.

· Strom Spa
Another great place to go on a rainy day. After traveling, soaking in the bath and sauna is pure bliss!
