I came all the way to Ras Al Khaimah just to take some post-apocalyptic desert photos

This is my second visit to Ras Al Khaimah, and I wasn't fully prepared last time! This time, I'm determined to nail those post-apocalyptic shots! After landing, I headed straight to the Bassahta Camp in Ras Al Khaimah.

Just about an hour's drive from Dubai, you'll reach this mysterious desert camp. As soon as I stepped out of the car, the rolling sand dunes shimmered with golden light under the sun—barren yet spectacular—instantly making me feel like I'd stepped into a mystical world straight out of a movie.

Upon arrival, I first tried the desert dune bashing experience. Hopping into a 4x4 and speeding across the dunes was an adrenaline rush even more thrilling than a roller coaster. There was a stop midway, and this spot was perfect for snapping those Instagram-worthy shots!
After dune bashing, I also tried sandboarding. It's similar to snowboarding, but the friction was much higher, making it less smooth—still, it made for great photos!

Besides the thrilling activities, you can also ride camels and enjoy Arabic coffee, all included for free.
In the evening, there are plenty of fun activities too. You can savor authentic Arabic cuisine while enjoying performances like the traditional Arabic skirt dance, belly dancing, and fire shows—the atmosphere is absolutely electric.

A few photography tips: Wear light or bright-colored clothing to create a striking contrast against the desert backdrop—every shot will look epic. Whether you're standing on a dune with the wind billowing your clothes or sitting on a camel with the desert as your background, the vibe is just perfect.
