A walking guide to French classical architecture 🏛️

Eastern France niche travel route recommendation! South Ceylons Driving Leisure

If you like me and like to explore cities on your own, Nancy and Reims are definitely the niche options in eastern France! This self-drive trip, along the way, high-rise monuments and French gardens alternately appear, not only visual enjoyment, but also a lot of free time, breaking the hurried rhythm of the group tour. The point is, it’s easy to find parking at each attraction, no hassle at all!

Highlights of the itinerary: Luxury palace gardens, beautiful church square, free-driving in-depth exploration

🟢Nan Tin: Classical Palace Garden x Characteristic Church Square
First stop: Government Palace - Palace Garden
If you are a garden junkie, be sure to visit Government Palace - Palace Garden in downtown Namseok! The garden is full of finely manicured French courtyards, the palace has an elegant and stately appearance, surrounded by ancient trees, plus the garden fountain, even just sitting and feeling for a moment is very healing.
📍Address: 1 Rue Jacquot, 54000 Nancy, France

Stop 2: St. Eppel Cathedral and Square
This church is a historical landmark in Nanshi. There are many cafes and small shops near the square. The architectural style has a very medieval feel. It is recommended that you go early, you can slowly appreciate the little details inside the church, then walk out to the square to sit for a cup of coffee and feel the slow life of Nanxi.
📍Address: Place Saint Epvre, Nancy, France

🟡 Lance: Cathedral x Hipster Weekend Activities
Stop 3: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Reims
The Cathedral of Reims is one of the most representative Gothic churches in France. Open so early on weekday mornings (07:30-19:30), don’t be afraid to miss the beautiful view of the church with different lights and shadows; close slightly earlier on Sundays (until 19:15), remember to schedule your time.
📍Address: Pl. du Cardinal Luçon, 51100 Reims, France
🕘Opening Hours: Year-round 07:30-19:30 (Sundays only until 19:15)

Fourth stop: Weekend Reims
Reims not only has history, but also has specialty markets or street shows on weekends, which is really suitable for walking slowly and watching while eating. Recommendation There are many boutique coffee shops and dessert shops around the Cathedral, where you can chill while enjoying French life.

Practical tips (must read for self-driving!):
- There are basically paid parking in the French city, and it is not difficult to find a space near the attractions in Nanxi, but note that some streets have limited parking, and remember to check Google Maps' real-time parking guide before driving.
- About 1 hour drive between Nancy and Reims, the highway is in good condition, it is recommended to buy a car with the highway Pass, save time and worry.
- Admission to the church is free, but some special exhibitions are charged. Large backpacks are not allowed inside the Reims Cathedral. Photography needs to be low-key and no flash.
- Book a hotel in the city center before you leave for easy access with your car and walk to the major attractions.

Food Recommendations:
- Mirabelle tart, French baked snails, must-try traditional desserts in Southern Tien;
- There are many fine biscuits in Lance, focusing on authentic French cuisine, each one is worth a try!

Start your deep exploration of eastern France – especially the driving in-depth tour, which is really different from a regular group tour, where you can stop and take pictures or discover hidden shops along the way!
