A family road trip brought us to the Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Museum this time.
1. We stayed at a guesthouse, where we parked in the guesthouse's parking space. Alternatively, there are many free parking spots by the harbor or paid parking lots available.
2. Upon entering the museum, there are costumed characters for photo opportunities. Many people took photos with Kitaro, while the other character had fewer visitors.
3. There's a spot featuring a rotating Kitaro holding a teapot, which turns 360 degrees for photo-taking.
4. The entrance fee was 1,000 yen as of October 13, 2025.
5. After purchasing tickets, you take the elevator to the second floor to begin the tour.
6. The museum features many exhibits about Mizuki Shigeru's life. A highlight is a roughly 9-minute animation that provides insight into the author's growth and experiences.
7. Towards the back, there are areas with various yokai (Japanese spirits) for photo opportunities.
8. The museum also offers commemorative coins.
