Santorini feels like it’s been painted in shades of blue — from the deep Aegean Sea surrounding the caldera to the famous blue-domed churches perched atop whitewashed cliffs. It’s a surreal color palette that follows you everywhere.
I drove around the island and it was the best decision. The freedom to move between charming villages and dramatic coastal viewpoints gave me a deeper look into this magical place. Every time I turned a corner, the blue horizon and sea greeted me like a painting come to life.
And let’s talk about the beaches — they’re unlike anywhere else. From the fiery Red Beach to the black sands of Perissa and Kamari, they might not be your typical palm-tree-lined shores, but they are absolutely mesmerizing in their own rugged, volcanic way. Some stretches of coastline offered stunning views of the blue waters blending seamlessly with the sky — I couldn’t stop taking photos.
Driving through those narrow winding roads, with little blue-domed chapels dotting the hills and the Aegean never far from view, made this trip unforgettable.
