How can you visit Sanya without indulging in its delicious food? During our stay at the Sanya Marriott Hotel Haitang Bay, we dined right at the hotel.
For authentic Hainan cuisine, head to Yuxian Chinese Restaurant, which uses low-oil and low-salt cooking methods for healthier dishes. Try the Coconut Milk Chicken Set Meal for Two, featuring dishes like Golden Orange Jellyfish Salad, Lanxi Stream Stone Forest Fish, Fresh Coconut Milk Chicken with Five-Finger Peach, XO Sauce Garlic Loofah, and Braised Seafood Noodles. The coconut milk chicken is exceptionally tender, with no dry pieces, and the light, creamy coconut flavor is delightful. The seafood noodles are a must-try—perfectly seasoned with fresh clams, prawns, and other seafood, every strand of noodle bursting with umami. For dessert, the Brown Sugar Ginger Sweet Potato Noodles offer a refreshing and nourishing finish.
After Chinese cuisine, we ventured to the Sea Salt Spanish Restaurant for dinner. The Steak Sharing Platter is generously portioned, including two appetizers. For the main course, we chose the Australian Petit Sirloin Steak with Truffle Butter Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables. The steak, pre-sliced and charcoal-grilled, was aromatic and cooked to a perfect medium-rare, juicy and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were delicious, paired well with the vegetables. The Spanish-style seafood paella was suggested to be cooked softer for our preference—the tender rice enveloping the fresh prawns was absolutely delectable. The specially crafted non-alcoholic cocktails were stunning under the evening blue hues, and as the restaurant doubles as a bar, it’s a great spot for those who enjoy a drink or two.
