Sapporo Maruyama Polar Bear Pavilion - Restores the polar environment to give visitors a better viewing experience

Maruyama Zoo is located in Maruyama Park in downtown Sapporo. The most popular attraction in the park is the polar bear pavilion which opened in March 2018! The polar bears' living environment here is bigger and more beautiful than that of Asahiyama Zoo.

In order to better restore the polar environment, the exhibition space for seals in the museum is separated only by a piece of glass from their natural enemy, the polar bear, so they are neighbors. In addition, an underwater tunnel has been built under the water tank in the animal display space. Visitors can see the cute polar bears swimming in the tunnel while passing through it.
