⛩️ Serene Escape at Hokkaido Jingu

We visited Hokkaido Jingu on a crisp morning while exploring Sapporo, and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful experiences of our trip. Nestled inside Maruyama Park, the shrine felt like a hidden sanctuary surrounded by tall, majestic trees. The moment we walked through the giant torii gate, the city noise just melted away.

The shrine grounds were expansive and beautifully maintained. There were locals doing their morning prayers and a few tourists quietly soaking in the atmosphere. I took my time strolling through the gravel paths, breathing in the fresh air and admiring the traditional architecture. The wooden structures had a sense of quiet strength, and the whole place exuded calmness.

I also got an omamori (a Japanese good luck charm) from the small counter near the main hall. There’s something grounding about these shrines—the sense of history and spirituality lingers in the air.

If you’re visiting Sapporo, don’t skip this spot. It’s not just about sightseeing—it’s about slowing down and being present.
