Odd-numbered family accommodation challenge - Huis Ten Bosch, Nagasaki, Japan

For this trip to Kyushu, Japan, we planned 3 days in Nagasaki and 2 days in Fukuoka. As a family of five, it was challenging to book accommodations due to our specific needs: parents and children couldn't share a room due to different living habits, the children required separate beds due to their sleeping preferences, and we needed separate toilet and bathroom facilities.

On the first night, we stayed near Huis Ten Bosch Station. Since accommodations within the park require purchasing tickets for entry, we chose Hotel Nikko Huis Ten Bosch. We booked a double room and a triple room, costing approximately $3500 and $5000 respectively on a Saturday in June. Both included buffet breakfast and perfectly met our needs. The rooms were spacious, but the only downside was the walking distance from the station.

For the second night, we stayed inside the Huis Ten Bosch park at Forest Villa, costing around $9000. Since we visited the nearby Kujukushima Islands in the morning, we purchased tickets for park entry after 3 PM. At the park entrance, we arranged luggage delivery and took a shuttle bus to Hotel Europe for check-in. From there, a minibus transported us to the beige-colored Villa. The Villa's back door opened to a lake, and the front was surrounded by a hydrangea garden in full bloom during June, creating a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. The first floor featured a living room, a small kitchen, a bathroom, and a toilet, while the second floor had two bedrooms and another toilet. Guests also received hot spring tickets and could take a shuttle to the park's hot spring facility. Additionally, the stay included tickets for the park the next day, making it a great value! The following morning, we called for a minibus from the in-room phone to return to Hotel Europe for check-out, and then took a boat along the canal to the park entrance.

Our experience at Hotel Nikko Huis Ten Bosch and Forest Villa was delightful. Although the facilities were not the most modern, they were very family-friendly and met all our accommodation requirements. Highly recommended for families with children and elderly members.
