Washington Park Arboretum

Birdwatcher’s Paradise on a Dime
For anyone interested in local wildlife, the Arboretum, particularly the Marsh Island and Foster Island areas, is a goldmine. We brought our budget binoculars and spent an hour spotting different species of ducks, wading birds, and songbirds in the wetlands. The sheer biodiversity available for free in the middle of a major city is astounding. You don't need an expensive tour or a specialized reserve; just a free access path and some patience. It’s a wonderful, relaxing way to connect with nature that proves the best things in life (and in Seattle) are often free.
