Climbing Mount Rinjani is tough—no sugarcoating it—but reaching the summit was the most rewarding moment of my summer vacation. It’s a multi-day trek, and camping under the stars with views of the crater lake is unforgettable. The scenery constantly shifts between tropical jungle, savannah, and volcanic terrain. You need to be reasonably fit, but the sense of accomplishment (and those breathtaking sunrises) makes it one of Indonesia’s top adventures.
