Sendai's "Jogi Nyorai Saihoji Temple Five-story Pagoda" A symbolic tower praying for peace

There is a five-story pagoda in one corner of Jogi Nyorai Saihoji Temple. It is now called Jogi, but originally it was called Sadayoshi. It originated from Lord Sadayoshi of the Taira clan. The five-story pagoda was built to express gratitude and offer a memorial to Lord Sadayoshi, and to pray for lasting peace for all mankind.

Access: About 45 minutes by car from Sendai Miyagi I.C., about 60 minutes from Sendai Station. About 80 minutes by bus from Sendai Station

Opening hours: 8:00 – 16:15 in the five-story pagoda grounds

Parking: Free

Admission fee: Free

It is surrounded by nature and you can take a break at the matcha tea shop. Be sure to visit not only the main hall but also the five-story pagoda 😊
