Shanghai Gate's Jeju Seongsan Ilchulbong

📍Jeju Island

⏰ 2017.04

The thing I miss most about living in Shanghai is the lack of a nearby beach.
I love going to the beach, so back in Korea, I often went to the beach on weekends.
This time, I stopped by Seoul for the first time in a long time and went to Jeju Island!
Before, flights from Shanghai to Jeju Island used to cost around 800,000-900,000 won, but since the THAAD ban... thankfully, with the decrease in Chinese tourists, flights to Jeju Island have become much cheaper.

April is when Jeju's rapeseed flowers are in full bloom, right?
There are many farms with well-decorated photo zones, and you can pay to enter and take pictures, but...

Actually, if you wander along the coastline, you'll find many places where rapeseed flowers are just spread out in the open!
That day, I was at Gwangchigi Beach in front of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak and was thrilled to find a deserted rapeseed field. 😍😍

I saw a picture of Gwangchigi Beach with clear water and it was so pretty, so I decided to visit. The time I went was when the water was low. Be careful, the moss is slippery!

These flat rocks are called gwangchigi in Jeju dialect, so they're called Gwangchigi Beach.
There were people riding horseback,
and aspiring photographers came to chat,
and haenyeo (female divers) came out of the water. It was a truly diverse place. 👍🏻
