✨️Soesogak✨️ was designated as a national cultural heritage site along with Oedolgae and Sanbangsan by the Cultural Heritage Administration on June 30, 2011. It refers to the mouth of the Hyodoncheon (孝敦川) that flows between Hahyo-dong, Seogwipo-si and Harye-ri, Namwon-eup. This is where the water flowing through the basalt underground of Jeju gushed out and met the seawater to form a deep pool. The name Soesogak is a Jeju dialect. Soe means Hyodon Village, So means pond, and Gak is a suffix that means the end. It is known as a place with beautiful valley scenery and outstanding scenic beauty.
