#January Travel Support Event Jeju Dongbaek Forest: Hidden Gem of Winter Travel 💎
Are you planning a trip to Jeju? Let me introduce you to Dongbaek Forest, a hidden gem in Jeju Island in winter! 🌸
Where is Dongbaek Forest? 🗺️
Dongbaek Forest, located on Saenggiak-ro, Namwon-eup, Seogwipo-si, is about an hour away from Jeju Airport by car. It is close to famous tourist destinations such as Soesogak and Hyueori, making it a perfect travel course! A rental car is the most convenient, but you can also take bus number 181 and take a taxi from Namwon-eup Office.
The parking lot can accommodate about 100 cars for free. However, during the camellia season (December to February), it gets full after 10 AM, so it's better to go early! 😊
Visit Information 💡
🕒 Opening Hours 9:00 AM ~ 5:30 PM
💰 Admission Fee Adults 6,000 won, Youths 4,000 won (10% discount when booking online!)
🌼 Camellia Peak Season Mid-December ~ Mid-January
Indoor masks are required for COVID-19 prevention! Only small dogs are allowed, so make sure to bring a leash and poop bag. 🐶
The Charm of Camellia Forest ✨
This place is a beautiful forest of about 1,500 baby camellia trees that are about 20 years old. The 800m long walking path has a gentle slope, so even the elderly and children can walk comfortably!
Cafe 'Camellia Forest' ☕
The cafe connected to the entrance offers a fantastic view overlooking the camellia forest! Don't forget to try the Camellia Cream Mocha (6,500 won) and the Green Tangerine Ade (5,500 won). The camellia forest seen from the window seat is like a living painting. 📸
Life shot points 📱
Photo zones with wooden tables and white chairs, Jeju stone wall paths, and terraced gardens... No matter where you take a picture, you'll get a life shot! The 'frame window' photo zone is especially popular, so please note that there may be a waiting time.
The best lighting for photos is between 10 AM and 2 PM. You can get warm-toned photos around sunset! ✨
Camellia Forest by Season 🌺
Flower buds start to open in late November, and the peak season is from December to January. You can see flowers until early February, but from late January, the petals fall and dye the ground red, creating a spectacular sight. Check the blooming status on the official Instagram (@camelia.forest) before visiting!
Outside of the camellia season (March to November), you can only use the cafe and garden without an admission fee. At this time, it is great for a leisurely picnic while enjoying the cool greenery. 🧺
Practical tips 💪
- Bring a scarf and gloves because the winter wind is strong!
- Non-slip sneakers are essential!
- You can eat lunch boxes at the outdoor tables (food and drinks are not allowed in the cafe)
- There are restrooms at the ticket booth and the cafe
Meaning of camellia flowers 🕊️
Camellia flowers are also a symbol of honoring the victims of the Jeju April 3 Incident. There is a peace monument in Dongbaek Forest, which also has historical significance.
In conclusion 💕
Dongbaek Forest is a place where you can feel the true charm of Jeju in winter. From red camellia flowers, Jeju stone walls, to delicious cafe drinks... If you come to Jeju Island, you must visit! Why not go take a great photo to post on your Instagram feed right now? 📱✨
