Xujiahui Catholic Church is a beautiful Gothic building and is known as the most beautiful church in Shanghai⛪. The church's exterior is red, with pointed arch doors and windows, exquisite sculptures and stained glass. The church is open to visitors from Tuesday to Saturday. (See the last photo for more details.)
There is a leisure square in front of the church for visitors to rest. One side of the square is adjacent to Xujiahui Academy. This is a branch of Shanghai Library, which was newly opened in the past two years. The academy's design is very modern, and the high-ceilinged hall is both beautiful and high-end. Inside, readers sit at long wooden desks that are reminiscent of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Currently, no appointment is required to enter, but there is a large flow of people.
If you walk a short distance north along Caoxi Road, you can see a unique building, which is the Xujiahui Library. This place doesn't seem to be open to tourists, but you can view the building from a distance outside. It is said that this is the earliest library in Shanghai. Its square and thick shape gives people a particularly solid feeling.
