Jin Shangyi Sketch Exhibition

Mr. Jin Shangyi is a leading figure in China's art world, combining oil painting creation, art education, academic research, and organizational leadership. His artistic achievements are outstanding and have a profound impact. Mr. Jin's artistic and academic career is entirely the same age as the Republic. His artistic practice and research have deeply participated in the historical process of cultural construction in New China. Studying Mr. Jin's sketch achievements has a significant meaning for the present.

In this exhibition, we can clearly see that Mr. Jin's artistic path started with realistic painting. The basic knowledge of painting was personally taught by Soviet expert Maximov. These two points effectively laid the foundation for his painting. Later, he deeply explored the characteristics of Eastern and Western painting languages and cultural spirits, and integrated and deeply explored them. With a modern perspective and the essence of classical painting, he focused on reality, using concise and summarized painting language, deeply combining research and expressiveness, and created contemporary Chinese oil paintings that highlight the modeling characteristics of oil painting and Eastern aesthetics.
