| Former Residences of Great Figures Who Shaped History. Not far from the Wukang Mansion, there is another well-known residence, the Soong Ching-ling Memorial Residence in Shanghai.

The Soong Ching-ling Memorial Residence in Shanghai is located at 1843 Huaihai Middle Road. Built in 1920, it is a European-style building with red tiles and white walls. After Soong Ching-ling's death in the 1980s, the former residence was converted into a memorial hall and opened to the public.

📍Soong Ching-ling Cultural Relic Museum

This is the first visiting point at the entrance of the memorial hall. The museum mainly displays some items used by Soong Ching-ling during her lifetime, as well as some pictures and historical materials about her life.

📍Main Building

This is a three-story, boat-shaped European-style building. The first floor consists of a hallway, living room, dining room, and two studies on the east and west sides. The second floor houses Soong Ching-ling's bedroom, office, etc. The third floor is presumably an attic and is not open to the public.
⚠️Photography is prohibited inside the main building, so the interior furnishings leave a sense of mystery for those outside.

📍Garden
In front of the main building is the third major highlight of the memorial hall—the garden. The 2,200+ square meter garden is surrounded by 20 to 30 century-old camphor trees, lush and green, providing shade all year round.

But the image of Soong Ching-ling in her Shanghai residence
Can still evoke people's memories and yearning for that era.
