Students are so excited they’re crying—if you come to Shanghai, you must stay at this hotel!

Hyatt Regency Shanghai Jiading

📍 A hidden gem location that’s lively yet peaceful
Unexpectedly found a treasure in the Shanghai suburbs! Hyatt Regency Jiading is located by Yuanxiang Lake in Jiading New Town, just a 10-minute taxi ride from Jiading New Town Station on Metro Line 11. The surroundings are super quiet, and when you open the window, you see the shimmering lake. Across the water is the uniquely designed Jiading Poly Grand Theatre, which looks like a floating piece of art when lit up at night. It’s only about a 10-minute drive to Zhouqiao Old Street and Nanxiang Ancient Town, so you can enjoy city convenience while experiencing the charm of the Jiangnan water town.

🛏 An irresistible stay experience for detail lovers
The floor-to-ceiling windows will blow you away as soon as you enter! You get a full view of Yuanxiang Lake, and the sunlight pouring onto the creamy white bed is especially soothing. There are surprises everywhere in the room: the smart toilet has a heated seat, perfect for winter; the bathroom’s oversized bathtub comes with bath salt balls, leaving a subtle fragrance after soaking; the minibar even has Shanghai’s iconic White Rabbit milk candy, instantly bringing back childhood memories~

🍽 A fusion of Jiangnan flavors and creativity on your palate
The breakfast deserves high praise! Besides the usual Western dishes, the freshly made xiaolongbao are insanely good—the soup bursts out with every bite, rivaling the famous old brands in Nanxiang Ancient Town. For dinner at the hotel’s Chinese restaurant, we ordered stir-fried eel paste and crab roe tofu. The local dishes were authentic and beautifully plated. Before leaving, I ordered a “Jiading exclusive” osmanthus latte at the lobby bar. Facing the lake view outside the window, the atmosphere was perfect!

🌉 Nearby must-visit spots you won’t want to leave
After relaxing at the hotel for half a day, we finally set out! A 15-minute walk takes you to Jiading Library, known as the “most beautiful library.” Sitting by the window reading, with the lake and its reflection behind you, is a must for culture lovers. The next day, we took a taxi to Zhouqiao Old Street, tried freshly fried crabapple cakes, and then stopped by Nanxiang Ancient Town to buy vacuum-packed xiaolongbao as souvenirs~

💡 Insider tips for your stay

- Choose a high-floor lake view room! In the morning, open the curtains to see the lake shrouded in mist like an ink painting; at night, you can watch the grand theatre’s light show.
- Families with kids can opt for the themed family rooms, which feature cute little tents and children’s slippers. The hotel also offers parent-child craft activities.
- Self-driving guests will be thrilled! The underground parking is very spacious, and charging for new energy vehicles is convenient; Metro Line 11 goes directly to the city center, making transfers to Disneyland and Xujiahui super easy.

This stay at Hyatt Regency Jiading completely healed my fatigue. It turns out Shanghai isn’t just about the Bund and Lujiazui—the quietness and refinement hidden in the suburbs are the most precious travel memories to cherish!
