Come to Hongkou North Bund CityWalk during the May Day holiday and follow this itinerary

: 🚇 Exit from Exit 3 of Tiantong Road Station on Lines 10 and 12, walk 50 meters, and you will see Xinyi Flower Shop (a popular flower shop). Turn right onto Beisuzhou Road from Jiangxi North Road and arrive at Riverside Building (featured in many TV dramas, exterior view).
: Walk along Beisuzhou Road for 5 minutes, and you will reach the Shanghai Postal Museum. Spend 1-1.5 hours inside. At the entrance, you can take a "Century Together" photo, admire the spiral staircase and the exquisite ceiling chandelier—don’t miss it (photo 2).
After leaving the Postal Museum, continue walking along Beisuzhou Road (Sichuan Road Bridge is beside you, be careful not to cross it). After a few minutes, you will feel like you are by the Seine River, where people leisurely sit by the river drinking coffee and chatting, with the Lujiazui skyline in the background.
Keep walking forward, and you will see the Suning Polymnia Hotel. Next to it is the Zhapu Road Bridge. Take photos of the beautiful scenery on both sides of the river from the bridge, then cross it. Walk along Nansuzhou Road to Yuanmingyuan Road and arrive at the Bund Origin. Here you will find the first batch of buildings from Shanghai’s opening-up period, now the Bund’s second facade. Strolling here, you can check in and take photos (photo 3).
: Walk along Yuanmingyuan Road, pass the Peninsula Hotel, and when you see the Bund Origin No.1 parking lot, enter through the iron gate. You will see Bund Origin No.1—the former British Consulate General in Shanghai, a British Renaissance-style building with a beautiful lawn in front (photos 4, 5).
: Exit Bund Origin No.1 from the Zhongshan East 1st Road gate, and you will be at the Bund. You will see the famous Waibaidu Bridge, where the Suzhou Creek meets the Huangpu River. Here you can take photos of the Shanghai Mansion on the opposite bank. Cross Waibaidu Bridge, and you will see the China Securities Museum (formerly Pujiang Hotel). At one corner of the museum is the most beautiful reading room in Shanghai—don’t miss it. Visiting the Securities Museum takes 1-1.5 hours. After the visit, cross the street to the stairs beside the Russian Consulate to reach the North Bund Riverside.
: In this area, you will have a direct view of the Bund, North Bund, and the Lujiazui city skyline. Walk along the North Bund Riverside, and you will see the World Reception Hall, Maritime Lighthouse, the most beautiful coffee shop, the popular Little Giant Egg, and Rainbow Bridge.
: This route takes about 4-5 hours to complete. From the Little Giant Egg, head east to the Daming Road exit. The tallest building opposite is Baiyulan Plaza, where you can enjoy dining, shopping, and entertainment all in one place. The International Passenger Transport Center Station on Metro Line 12 is right below the plaza (photos 8-15).
: You can also reverse the route, starting from the North Bund Riverside heading toward Tiantong Road. This scenic walk with stops at two museums is perfect for your May Day holiday trip, offering two different vibes by day and night (note museum opening hours).
: If you’re a special forces enthusiast, continue walking 1 kilometer (15-20 minutes) along the North Bund Riverside to the Gongping Road Ferry Station. Spend 2 yuan to take the Taigong Line to the opposite side of the Pudong Riverside. Walk 15-20 minutes along the Pudong Riverside to the base of the Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower. You can also watch a romantic sunset by the riverside at the Pudong Art Museum entrance. To return to Puxi, take Metro Line 2 from Lujiazui, just one stop to Nanjing East Road Station. This entire itinerary requires a full day tour 🤩
