1. The Bund (外滩)

The Bund features European-style architecture along the Huangpu River, complemented by the towering skyscrapers of the Pudong area across the river. The evening, when the lights are on, is the most beautiful time to visit. For photography, position yourself to capture the Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Tower in the background.

2. Oriental Pearl Tower (东方明珠塔)

A landmark in the Pudong area, the Oriental Pearl Tower stands at 468 meters tall. From its observation deck, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Shanghai, and the glass floor observation deck offers a unique experience. The 259-meter observation deck also features a revolving restaurant where you can dine while enjoying the view. It’s not easy to reach directly from The Bund, so taking Metro Line 2 to Lujiazui Station is the most convenient option.

3. Yu Garden (豫园)

Built during the Ming Dynasty, Yu Garden is a traditional garden featuring serene ponds, bridges, and pavilions. Inside the garden, there is a traditional tea house, and the nearby Yu Garden Bazaar offers souvenir shopping and a chance to taste Shanghai street food. Visiting in the morning is recommended for a quieter experience.

• Morning: Visit Yu Garden and experience traditional Shanghai cuisine.
• Afternoon: Explore the Oriental Pearl Tower observation deck and nearby shopping malls.
• Evening: Stroll along The Bund and enjoy the night view.

The best times to visit Shanghai are in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). The city has a well-developed metro system, so purchasing a transportation card is recommended. Since Google Maps may not work well, using offline maps like Baidu Maps or Kakao Maps can be convenient.
