This trip to Shanghai is mainl

This trip to Shanghai is mainly for sightseeing and food, and I chose the highly popular Shanghai Outer Bund Maoyue Hotel. If you want to experience the typical Shanghai modern city charm while enjoying a quiet yet bustling accommodation, this hotel is definitely a must-try.

location:
The hotel is located at 199 Huangpu Road, only about a five to ten minute walk to the Outer Banks, and nearby the North Outer Banks, Waibaidu Bridge and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, making it easy to access both lunch and night. The surroundings of the hotel are quieter than other hotels in the city center without too much noise for a peaceful stay.

Landscape:
Best of all, the room and penthouse bar have a three-piece set of views directly on the Huangpu River, the Pearl of the Orient Tower, and the Shanghai Tower. Whether it’s breakfast in the morning or a night drink, the night shadow of the river view is super charming. This time we stayed in the room type with open view, looking out is a beautiful view, really will want to stay in the room hea day.

Facilities and services:
The room facilities are new, the space is large, the decoration is simple and modern, the sound insulation is good, sleep is not disturbing. The hotel service is also particularly attentive, the front desk will help guests arrange rooms in advance, when necessary, the guest relations staff (Lorna / Anna / Ellie) are proactive to help solve problems, help order meals, deliver items are very patient. Some guests did not check in as quickly during peak hours and the front desk had a calmer personality, but the overall service standard was still in line with five-star hotel standards.

breakfast:
There are enough breakfast options, a mixture of Chinese and Western, whether friends staying in Hong Kong or abroad know how to choose food, the restaurant is spacious, not difficult to find a place in the morning, the service is well-organized, the dining atmosphere is comfortable.

Thoughts and trip tips:
Staying at this hotel, come back at night with a glass of wine and sit in the room or go to the penthouse bar to watch the night view of the Huangpu River, really relax to sleep. You don't need to get up early for breakfast. It won't be too crowded after 9pm. If you have time, you can go downstairs and walk by the river. It's great to take pictures. On the itinerary, it is recommended to walk to the Outer Banks in advance, and shopping with nearby Nanjing Road, back to the hotel to rest can avoid the noise of the city.

Minor drawbacks:
A small number of room types have not been renovated, the facilities are likely to be old, not cleaned carefully enough, it is recommended to book a newly renovated room type would be more ideal. The efficiency of service during peak hours needs to be improved, especially the speed of check-in and problem solving, where more urgent friends can communicate their needs early.

Booking Tips:
When booking, it is recommended to choose a high-rise river view room, the view is excellent! Remember to communicate with the hotel in advance for special requests (such as birthday/anniversary decorations). It is recommended to book more than one month in advance for popular dates. Shanghai’s city routes are dominated by walking and subway, making it quick and easy to get to other attractions by staying in a hotel next to it.
