Explore Balagezong - Bala Village

Bala Village is located at the foot of Gezong Snow Mountain, deep in the Shangri-La Grand Canyon, at an altitude of about 2,900 meters. Bala Village is a Tibetan village with a history of more than 1,300 years. Its name "Bala" means "a Tibetan village that migrated from Batang" in Tibetan. Bala Village has rich natural resources and beautiful scenery, and was once isolated from the world due to inconvenient transportation. Sna Dingzhu, who was born here, left the mountains at the age of 13 to explore the outside world. After accumulating funds, he was determined to build a road to the outside world for his hometown at the age of 35. After decades of perseverance, he managed to carve out a 6.5-meter-wide road from the cliffs. Sna Dingzhu's legendary experience not only changed the poverty of his hometown, but also made Balagezong a tourist paradise that everyone yearns for.
Bala Village is located at the foot of Gezong Snow Mountain in the middle of the Shangri-La Grand Canyon, about 700 meters vertically above the Gangqu River Valley.
