Pre-Trip Preparation
- Clothing: Pack warm outfits like windbreakers, down jackets, and long pants. Daytime temperatures in June-July range from 14-25°C (57-77°F), dropping to 7-12°C (45-54°F) at night with significant daily variations.
- Medication: Start taking Rhodiola rosea 3 days in advance to prevent altitude sickness. Bring gastrointestinal medicine, cold medicine, and SPF50+ sunscreen.
- Essentials: Power bank, hydrating face masks, sunglasses, and hats.
Transportation Guide
- By Air: Direct flights to Diqing Airport, then a 15-minute taxi ride to the ancient town.
- By Train: Take high-speed rail to Lijiang, then transfer to a scenic bus route.
Accommodation Recommendations
Stay near the East or North Gate of the ancient town for convenience. For grassland sunrise views, consider lakeside B&Bs like Lismar Heartland·Nomad Oxygen Manor or Shangri-La Jinse·Wildyard·Lakeside Pasture.
