Basic Information🎯

• Address: Langdu Village, Gezan Township, Shangri-La City, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan, in the heart of Dilong Snow Mountain.

• Features: A plateau lake at an altitude of 3800 meters, composed of two plateau lakes. The water is crystal clear like a mirror, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, forests, and meadows. It is a hidden gem in Shangri-La.

• Opening Hours: Open all year round, recommended to start at 8 AM and return by 3 PM.

• Entrance Fee: 10 RMB per person for cleaning.

Preparation🎒

• Clothing: Windbreaker, fleece jacket, thick socks, down jacket; large temperature differences on the plateau and low temperatures at night.

• Equipment: Hiking boots (non-slip, waterproof), trekking poles, lightweight backpack (20-30 liters), sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, first aid kit (including band-aids, disinfectants, altitude sickness medicine, etc.).

• Food and Water: Prepare high-energy foods such as chocolate, energy bars, nuts, and bring 2-3 liters of water.

Hiking Routes🗺️

Easy Lakeside Loop Hike

• Route: Wooden Bridge Entrance - Moss Forest - Open Clearing - Wuyou Tree - Cattle and Sheep Pasture - Tent Camp - Parking Lot, about 3.5 km in total, takes around 2 hours.

• Highlights: The primeval forest is quiet and mysterious, the lake water is clear with snow mountains reflected in it, the moss forest is dreamy and playful, the Wuyou Tree and snow mountain meadows are picturesque, and the lakeside meadows in the afternoon are perfect for portrait and landscape photography.

Advanced Routes (Guide Required)

• Bottomless Lake - Swan Lake / Cuomu Lake

• Bottomless Lake - Fairy Lake - Tianchi Lake: Offers distant views of the three sacred mountains of Yading, with stunning scenery, but requires good physical fitness and a guide.

Travel Tips⚠️

• Altitude Sickness: Bottomless Lake is at a high altitude; it is recommended to acclimate in Shangri-La for 1-2 days beforehand. Pay attention to your pace during the hike and avoid strenuous exercise.

• Road Conditions: There may be muddy paths in the forest, so shoe covers are recommended; if driving, the latter part of the mountain road is rugged and watch out for falling rocks.

• Environmental Awareness: Bring your own trash bags and take away all garbage to protect this beautiful natural environment.

• Photography Tips: On sunny days, the lake water blends blue and green like jade; on rainy days, mist surrounds the area like a fairyland. Each weather condition offers unique beauty, so bring a camera to capture the scenery.
