Wudi Lake, known as "Woditso" in Tibetan, is the last pristine paradise of northwest Yunnan. The 5km lakeside trek isn't just a physical challenge, but a spiritual dialogue with nature. Avoid the rainy season and visit during rhododendron blooms or autumn. Witness the first sunlight piercing through fir forests at dawn, and you'll understand—this isn't a "mini Switzerland," but the untamed romance unique to the Hengduan Mountains.
【📍Location】
Wudi Lake is located in Langdu Village, Geza Township, Shangri-La City, Yunnan Province (altitude 3800-4100m), within the core area of the Three Parallel Rivers UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's ~110km from downtown Shangri-La and adjacent to Daocheng Yading.
【🌲Alpine Scenery】
This glacial erosion lake is surrounded by primeval forests, with snow-capped mountains (Yading's sacred peaks: Chenrezig, Jambeyang, and Chanadorje) reflected on its surface. Alpine meadows abound, while May-June offers spectacular rhododendron blooms.
【🛣️Access】
🚗Self-drive: ~2hrs from Shangri-La—first half on National Highway 214 (paved), latter half on Langdu Road (SUV recommended but sedans possible).
🚌Public transport: No direct buses; charter a car (~¥800-1000 roundtrip) or join outdoor groups.
