Tips to Avoid Disappointment|The Right Way to Experience Songzanlin Monastery~

🙋🏻‍♀️Recommendations/

1️⃣ Rent Tibetan clothing for photos
Songzanlin Monastery itself is not very large; you can explore it in 1-2 hours. However, it’s a fantastic spot for photos. We suggest renting Tibetan clothing to transform into a Tibetan girl~🌚 There are several rental shops right at the entrance, very convenient and affordable, and they even include makeup and styling; although red Tibetan clothing is quite common, it’s truly classic and photogenic~🥰

2️⃣ Go to the viewing platform to take panoramic shots of the monastery
You can tell the sightseeing bus driver to drop you off at the viewing platform. Here you can capture panoramic photos of Songzanlin Monastery, which are quite spectacular (see photos 11 & 12)🫢

3️⃣ Watch the stunning morning mist
Just found out the hidden way to enjoy Songzanlin Monastery!! Look! The morning mist! It’s unbelievably beautiful~🥹 If interested, you can search for guides to visit

🙅🏻‍♀️Not recommended/

1️⃣ Not recommended to use self-service ticket machines
💰There are two types of ticket sales: self-service machines and manual ticket counters! If you’re not interested in a guided tour, go straight to the manual ticket counter. Tickets are ¥55 per person, and the sightseeing bus is ¥20 per person.

Self-service machine tickets cost ¥90 per person (full ticket), which includes a guided tour and sightseeing bus. We bought the full ticket; the guided tour is okay, about 30 minutes, but it still gives you a bit more understanding of the place and culture🤔

⚠️Small tips for your visit/

✔️Check the weather; photos look best on sunny days
✔️Respect local customs; do not wear hats or take photos indoors
✔️The monastery stops admitting visitors at 5:30 PM
✔️There is a parking lot right at the entrance, and parking is free
✔️You need to climb stairs; if you have altitude sickness, it’s best to bring an oxygen bottle
