Heping Ancient Town is located in the northwest of Fujian Province, in the southwest of Shaowu City, with an area of 192 square kilometers. It was built in the Tang Dynasty and is one of the oldest ancient towns in Fujian Province.
Heping Ancient Town is a rare castle-style large village in China. Ancestral halls and family temples can be seen everywhere in the town, and nearly 200 luxurious houses from the Ming and Qing Dynasties are still preserved. The ancient town is one of the most distinctive ancient residential buildings in China and is a national tourism resource.
The most famous food in the ancient town is tofu and tofu pudding. The attractions include Da Fu Di, Heping Academy, and Xian Cheng Shu, all of which are worth seeing.
